Creamy Tomato Pasta alla Vodka

An extremely quick dish to prepare. A variation on Gigi Hadid's vodka pasta. Perfect when you need something quick and with ingredients that can usually be found in every store cupboard. The cream balances out the acidity of the tomatoes and the shot of vodka provides a very special kick. Just give it a try.

Creamy Tomato Pasta alla Vodka

Serves 4


    • 1 onion
    • 2 cloves garlic

    For the pasta, bring a pan of water to the boil. In the meantime, chop the onion and garlic.

    • 15 g butter
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tsp chilli flakes
    • salt
    • 500 g pasta

    Heat the olive oil and butter in a pan over a medium heat and add the onions, garlic and chilli flakes. Fry for 4 minutes until translucent. Add salt to the boiling water and cook the pasta two minutes before the packet instructions.

    • 2 tbsps tomato paste
    • 150 ml cream
    • salt
    • pepper
    • 40 ml vodka

    Add the tomato purée to the onions and fry well for about a minute. Pour in the cream and then the vodka and simmer over a low heat. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    Add the pasta to the sauce and cook for two minutes with a little pasta water until al dente. Serve with parmesan and cress.
